We have researched and reviewed for weeks to put together our list of the best electronic dartboards. From our experience, we can tell that electronic dartboards are far more complex and take more time to evaluate since there are many aspects to review than regular bristle boards.

They vary in price and quality and can be quite costly. You certainly don’t want to end up spending a hundred bucks (or more) on a bad product (and trust us, there are a lot of bad options out there). If you plan to buy one, our advice is to go for a top-rated electronic dartboard. Keep on reading, we will help you choose the best one for yourself with our buying guide and top-tier product list.
Best electronic dartboards

Our team of experts has gone through 3 rounds of product reviews. We searched for high-quality boards (around 40+ options) and gathered as much information about them as possible (online reviews, web presence, opinions in our local player network, etc.). Then, we found and got our hands on the product after shortlisting the options (down to 20 boards). Shoutout to all the players that offer us the chance to experience them!

When trying these boards, we took into account certain aspects, including the playing surface, segment border, budget, built-in features, supported games, and the look and feel. Then, for the last round, we sat together, compared, and finalize our list of the best electronic dartboards. It took quite some time but was very fun for us!

2. Best electronic dartboard under $100

Franklin Sports – Most Affordable Electronic Dartboard

Most affordable option
Franklin Sports Electronic Dartboard

  • Brand: Franklin Sports
  • Board diameter: 13.5 inches
  • Weight: 2.5 pounds (around 1.1 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 7.5/10

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Easy to set up

Cons

  • Small playing surface
  • Low-quality included darts

Our first option is the most affordable but delivers all the basics. This board has up to 65 game variations (including popular games like Cricket and ‘01), simple sound effects, multi-player support, simple score display, and ease of use. It’s simple to mount and use batteries, so you can easily move it around or use it for outdoor activities.

The included darts are not so great, the spider is not so thin, and the playing surface is quite small. We experienced some bounce-outs while playing with this board.

But hey, it’s super affordable. There’s nothing that we can complain about for this price. If you just want some casual plays or buy for your children, it’s a great choice.

Fat Cat 727 – Good Budget Electronic Dartboard

Good budget option
Fat Cat 727

  • Brand: Fat Cat
  • Board diameter: 13 inches
  • Weight: 2.8 pounds (around 1.2 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 7.7/10

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Nice color

Cons

  • Small playing surface
  • Low-quality included darts
  • Inner bullseye being hard to hit

Fat Cat 727 is another affordable option that can meet all of your basic needs for an electronic dartboard. It’s lightweight and has more than 40 games with 100+ playing options. It can support up to 8 players and has an automatic LED score display. Very basic. We give this board another plus for the color. Looks very nice.

Although it claims the spider is ultra-thin, we still have bounce-outs during play. The playing surface is also quite small, 13 inches (but it seems very durable). The inner bullseye is quite hard to hit since it probably has fewer holes.

Same as above, for the price, the board is still worth it for casual games.

The WIN.MAX – Best Budget Electronic Dartboard

Best budget option
WIN.MAX Electronic Dart Board

  • Brand: WIN.MAX
  • Board diameter: 15 inches
  • Weight: 3.4 pounds (around 1.5 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 8/10

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Play-against-computer mode
  • Tons of included accessories
  • Two options for power

Cons

  • Some buyers claim that some accessories are missing in the package

WIN.MAX electronic dartboard set is one of the most popular options. Although it’s not the best on our list, it checks all the boxes for a good-quality dartboard. 21 games and 65 variations, score display, voice announcer, and multiple-player support mode, it delivers all the basics that you need to have fun with friends. It also has a computer mode to play against with 5 different levels.

What we also like is the 12 darts included in the set plus tons of extra tips and flights. The darts are easy to grip and stick well on the board as we were playing. For the power, you can use an adapter (which is included in the set) or batteries.

This set includes everything you need to start playing right away with others. We haven’t got any major negative experiences with this board yet. If you want a best-money-for-value option that is affordable, look into this one!

Viper 800 – Underrated Electronic Dartboard

Top underrated option
Viper 800 Electronic Dartboard

  • Brand: Viper
  • Board diameter: 15.5 inches
  • Weight: 6 pounds (around 2.7 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 8.2/10

Pros

  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Cyber mode/Solo play mode
  • Large playing surface
  • Extended score display
  • Nice design/color

Cons

  • The included darts not high-quality

Viper 800 is one of the best options we recommend. You often play by yourself? It has a Cyber mode – playing against a computer with 5 different levels. You want to play in a large group? It supports up to 16 multi-players with an extra large score display, very easy to see.

The playing surface is large enough and holds darts pretty well (fewer bounce-outs). Up to 50+ games and 200+ variations, never get bored! This bad boy checks all the boxes that we consider a solid choice for an electronic dartboard.

The downside? The included darts should be of better quality and the time waited between plays should be shorter. But these are pretty minor. It only uses an adapter for power.

3. Best Electronic Dartboards under $200 (Above $100)

Viper Neptune – Best Design Electronic Dartboard (With Cabinet)

Good budget option
Viper Neptune Electronic Dartboard (With Cabinet)

  • Brand: Viper
  • Board diameter: 15.5 inches
  • Weight: 20.3 pounds (around 9 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 9/10

Pros

  • Built-in cabinet
  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Cyber mode/Solo play mode
  • Large playing surface
  • Extended score display
  • Excellent look and feel

Cons

  • The included darts not high-quality
  • Quite heavy (be careful when mounting)

If you want a board that makes friends or anyone go wow and jealous just by looking, this is it! This option is a combination of a classic look and a modern feel. The cabinet is made of synthetic wood but offers a high-quality look. When opened, it reveals a very featured-rich electronic dartboard. The color of the board goes well with the cabinet. It can undoubtedly become a spotlight in your (game) room!

And not just the look and feel, this board meets all the playing needs:

  • 57 games and 300+ playing options
  • Multi-player support for up to 16 players
  • Solo mode with 5 different levels
  • Extra large score display (supporting Cricket-game display)
  • 15-inches board that holds darts well

The included darts, however, are not so great. The board uses an adapter for power (included in the set) and is quite heavy, so be careful when mounting it. These are some minor drawbacks if you consider them to be.

Arachnid Cricket Pro Tournament 650 – All-in-one Electronic Dartboard

All-in-one option
Arachnid Cricket Pro Tournament 650

  • Brand: Arachnid
  • Board diameter: 15.5 inches
  • Weight: 11 pounds (around 5 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 9/10

Pros

  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Player-handicap option
  • Large playing surface
  • LED score displays
  • Voice-prompt

Cons

  • Fewer built-in games compared to other models

This option offers a home-play price for a professional experience. The playing surface is 15 inches and holds darts well. We notice the sound when darts hit the board is quieter due to the NylonTough segments.

It has 24 games with 100+ variations, 4-player LED score displays, voice prompt, and support for up to 8 players. What we also love about this board is it has a player-handicap option, which makes skills-gap games fair and more enjoyable. Everything works great! Even the included darts are not so bad.

The only downside is if you compare this option with some other boards, it has fewer built-in games compared to other models. But if you enjoy only the standard and classic games, it’s all good.

For the power source, it uses an adapter.

Fat Cat Mercury – High-quality Electronic Dartboard (with Cabinet)

High-quality option
Fat Cat Mercury Electronic Dartboard

  • Brand: Fat Cat
  • Board diameter: 13.5 inches
  • Weight: 11 pounds (around 5 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 8.5/10

Pros

  • Built-in cabinet
  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Multi-player score displays and a separate Cricket display

Cons

  • Quite small playing surface
  • Included darts not high-quality

Another great option with a built-in cabinet that is worth the money. 28 games with 150 playing options for up to 8 players, good enough. All the sounds and buttons work great.

What we really like about this dartboard is the score display. It is well divided into 4 sections and has a separate extra-large Cricket display on one of the cabinet doors. The numbers are very easy to see, making the score tracking become much easier for Cricket games.

However, the playing surface is only 13.5 inches, we wish it could be a little bit larger. Also, the included darts are not so great and the package includes only 6 spare tips (along with mounting hardware, instruction manual, and a power adapter).

Arachnid Cricket Maxx 1.0 – Best Value for Money Dartboard (with Cabinet)

Best value for money option
Arachnid Cricket Maxx 1.0

  • Brand: Arachnid
  • Board diameter: 13.5 inches
  • Weight: 14 pounds (around 6.5 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 9.2/10

Pros

  • Built-in cabinet
  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Solo play mode
  • Multi-player score and Cricket displays
  • Optional Heckler mode

Cons

  • Quite small playing surface
  • Included darts not high-quality
  • Quite heavy

Arachnid Cricket Maxx 1.0 has to be in the conversation for the best electronic dartboards. It offers a range of features that many others in this budget segment don’t have. 34 games with 180 variations (including 4 cricket games), 4 score displays, also a separate cricket display, voice-prompt, multiple player support (up to 8), and solo play mode, this board has them all!

The cabinet is built nicely and sturdy. With a walnut finish on the door exterior, it looks great and certainly will fit well in your (game) room.

Want to add more fun? This board has an optional Heckler feature that will roast players for bad throws and praise them for good scoring efforts. These comments will give everyone a good laugh and boost the fun atmosphere, especially when you play with a group of friends.

That said, we wish the board is a little bit larger (it’s 13.5 inches). The included darts are low quality. Other than that, great electronic dartboard. Looks great, and feels great. It’s definitely a bang for your buck. For the power source, it uses an adapter.

4. Best Electronic Dartboards above $200

Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 – Our Top Rated for The Best Dartboard

Our recommendation
Arachnid Cricket Pro 800

  • Brand: Arachnid
  • Board diameter: 15.5 inches
  • Weight: 11 pounds (around 5 kilograms)
  • Our rating: 9.5/10

Pros

  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Solo play mode
  • Multi-player score and Cricket displays
  • Optional Heckler mode
  • Showing average points per dart

Cons

  • Quite expensive
  • Included darts not high-quality

Arachnid has been well-known for making high-quality electronic dartboards for a long time and Cricket Pro 800 definitely comes out on top. In fact, we rank it at the highest level on the list.

15.5-inches board that sticks darts well. It meets our standards for the playing surface. The NylonTough segments with square holes are claimed to improve durability and playability. Not many bounce-outs during our plays.

39 games with 179 variations (including 7 cricket games), good enough for you to have endless fun. It has both solo-play and multi-player modes (up to 8 players). The Heckler feature has 3 different levels to roast players with bad throws and praise them for good scores (you can turn it off anytime).

We really love the extra large 4-player score display. All the numbers can be seen clearly from afar. Beside each player’s score section is the X/O LED display for Cricket games. It also shows the segments a player hits during a turn. These features make the gameplay and score tracking much easier, especially for Cricket.

But wait, there’s more! This electronic dartboard also shows you the average points per dart (PPD) in the ‘01 games. You will know how much progress you’re making play-by-play. Awesome!

The expensive price and included darts may be the only downsides of this amazing dartboard. But we believe it’s definitely worth the investment. The purchase includes quite a lot of extra dart tips and a power adapter.

Gran Board 3s – Best Electronic Dartboard for Online Plays

Best option for online plays
Gran Board 3s LED Bluetooth Dartboard

  • Brand: Gran Board

  • Our rating: 9.5/10

Pros

  • Plenty of games
  • Multi-player support
  • Solo play mode
  • Online plays
  • LED light ring
  • Player data analytics

Cons

  • Quite expensive
  • Included darts not high-quality

The LED light ring is another plus. You can change the color by using the app. Every time you hit a segment, it will light up more.

Just one piece of advice: Before buying, you should check whether you have the devices that are connectable to this board. But this shouldn’t be a problem as it supports many popular devices.

5. When You Should Buy an Electronic Dartboard

This section is for anyone who is still wondering whether they should buy an electronic dartboard or not. If you have already decided to buy one, please skip this and move on to the next section of our buying guide.

Yes, we get it, electronic dartboards are more expensive than regular ones. But they are better in many ways. Here are the common cases in which you would want to own an electronic board.

First off, they are very convenient, especially for multiple players. Imagine you throw a party at your house, it isn’t an easy task to keep track of the scoring, let’s say, in a game of 6 players, during the party. An electronic dartboard with automatic score-tracking will do all the heavy work, you only need to focus on playing. Not to mention that some boards have very cool features (light, voice, etc.) that can enhance the fun.

For non-partying people, the same advantages still apply. Electronic dartboards are normally equipped with tons of games and built-in features that reduce your efforts during playtime and enhance the playing experience.

They are also safer for you, others, and, the surroundings. Since most electronic boards use soft-tip darts, you don’t need to worry about paying for someone’s hospital fees or repairing the walls during plays. For occasions like family gatherings, it’s definitely safer to play with soft-tip darts when the environment is filled with children and others.

In summary, electronic dartboards are:

  • Convenient for multiple-player games
  • Equipped with tons of built-in games and features
  • Safer to play

It’s totally worth the money. But you need to know how to make a good investment – know how to buy a high-quality board.

6. How to Choose a High-Quality Electronic Dartboard (Buying Advice)

Here’s our advice to the common question, “How do I choose an electronic dartboard?”

Go for Popular Brands

If you’re going to buy online, go for a reputable brand. Their products have been bought and reviewed by many players and the customer support is also better. Unless you’re an expert knowing what you’re doing, stay away from cheap boards from unknown brands.

Some of the big names for electronic dartboards include Viper, Winmax, Fat Cat, and Arachnid.

Choose a Large Playing Surface

Electronic dartboards come in many sizes. The larger the playing surface, the more holes that darts can hit. You should go for a regulation size (around 15.5 inches). Aiming is hard enough. Choosing a smaller playing surface can make games even harder to play and enjoy.

Choose Thin Spider

Do you hate bounce-outs? We do. Choose a thin or ultra-thin spider (the lines that divide the surface into segments). A thinner spider means increased scoring opportunities and reduced chances of bounce-outs.

Consider the Numbers of Games and Variations

Some electronic dartboards can support up to 50 built-in games and tons of variations. Plenty of games mean you don’t get bored easily.
If you usually play in a large group, consider how it supports the multiple-player mode. If you normally play darts alone, look into the Solo or playing-against-a-computer mode. Many electronic boards support many levels of Solo play, which is very convenient to practice and improve your skills by yourself.

Consider the Built-in Features

This is the major advantage of electronic dartboards. Some have tons of cool features that reduce your efforts during gameplay and improve the playing experience. Here are some examples:

  • Scoreboard display: you don’t need to record manually which is time-saving
  • Metrics tracking: some boards allow you to see the average points per dart, which is super helpful to keep track of your practice and progress
  • Sounds and voice prompt: these can create a more engaging environment for players. Some boards even have a Heckler mode (verbally harassing you in case of bad throws), which can be very fun (depending on your preference, some people find this annoying)
  • Lighting: this is not a must but a nice thing to have

Consider the Setup and Power

Some boards can be installed easily while some can be trickier to set up. Some boards come with a standing part or a cabinet, which will require you to do some of the installation work (but this shouldn’t be very hard).

Some lightweight electronic boards use batteries, making them easy to move around your place. Others use a power adapter. Once it’s plugged in, you don’t need to worry about the board getting shut down due to power outage.

Choose the Best Dartboard within Your Budget

There are several price segments for electronic dartboards. Consider your budget and choose the top-rated option that falls under your spending limit. In the next sections, we’ll divide our product list into 3 budget categories: under $100, under $200, and above. In each category, we give you our top-rated options, along with our detailed reviews.

7. Conclusion

Electronic dartboards are fun and convenient to play with. Remember to choose and buy a high-quality one since there are a lot of bad options out there in the market.

  • If you have a good budget, go for Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 or Gran board 3s (if you want to play online regularly).
  • For mid-budget options, we recommend Viper Neptune and Arachnid Cricket Maxx as the top recommendations (both have a built-in cabinet and lots of cool features).
  • For low-budget options, WIN.MAX and Viper 800 can deliver beyond your basic playing needs.

Happy darting!
